Really good selection of channels to showcase the style. Looking forward to more really good bouts in the uk once I am back at the end of June.

Try these 3 channels on YT for comprehensive coverage of retro brit pro that anyone 40+ grew up with

There are still some UK feds using this style, as you'll see you get much more flexibility round the narrative but most live shows here are now the "one fall" start the aerial stuff from minute 1 that has come across the ocean,

I don't know much about Brit wrestling, other than some knowledge of Billy Robinson, and stories of Seven Regal's early days. It's my understanding that contests included timed rounds and was presented as more of a sporting competition than American pro. I'd love to learn more about it if anyone would like to discuss it further with me.

Yes, your understanding is correct: Brit pro wrestling in its late 60s to early 80s heyday always included timed rounds and was very much presented as a true sporting contest, as evidenced by Kent Walton's earnest commentary (which is now very much part of the experience of watching those wrestling matches). Kent Walton was the commentator on the World of Sport wrestling show that aired on Saturday afternoons, and he did that job for years, certainly since the early 70s when I started watching wrestling as a boy. I'd be delighted to discuss Brit pro wrestling with you, so please get in touch if you'd like to chat.
