Your experience is the same for me as well. Unfortunately, I am in the 'cannot host' group, but for good reason. I have every desire to meetup, but I am currently caring for an elderly parent. What I am finding is most men on here are not single or have other barriers to meeting, or have no plan to meet at all. There has been a huge change in my opinion. Whether it's online options for porn, or whatever the case, I think most people just like the idea of meeting, but get off and have other outlets that block them from doing so.
There are a few people with mat spaces in AZ. I lived there for 12 years and wrestled with many of the established wrestlers who on are Meet fights. Try reaching out to them. Go through the MF profiles for AZ and reach out. I understand your wanting to have to shared space. There used to be a wrestling club in AZ but it folded by Attrition. Might be fun to see if it can be rebuild
I am continually frustrated by the fact that neither I nor a lot of potential opponents can host matches in my area (West Valley-Phoenix).
Since I'm a "fixer" in my real life, my alleged mind goes toward solutions instead of complaints, so here's my first train of thought: I think a partnership could be in order:
1) someone with space like a garage, outdoor area, empty casita, etc, but no gear or equipment
2) people who are willing to contribute to a fund to purchase mats and other furnishings
3) someone who can get agreements and waivers in place to protect everyone involved from any hint of liability
4) someone who can work up a system of scheduling, reservations and fees
I know I could fill the second, third and fourth roles easily. I'm wondering if anyone else would be interested in partnering on something like this.
Or instead of all that. Perhaps someone already has good space and would be open to renting it out.
Maybe I'm out in left field, but I'm tired of missing out on matches because I can't find appropriate space...
