Excellent story-and I find it interesting that my last real match was with a guy I had wrestled twice before and he called himself the Beast. Each time he has destroyed me and the last match was extremely vicious.
This is my attempt at a story. Its all fictional and based on the odd fancy that passes through my brain. this is just the set up, so no wrestling in it. Yet ;)
The Locked Room Mystery. Part 1
The door shut behind us. He turned the key in the door so the lock clicked shut.
We were now both locked in the room. Just me and him.
Nowhere for either of us to go.
I quickly scanned my surroundings, a private matroom, mats all along the floor and half up the walls with the smell of sweat, testosterone and adrenaline seemed to seep from the mats themselves.
For a second, I wondered how I got myself into this, what had led me to this room and this guy and this upcoming battle.
A smile broke across my face as I remembered.
A simple message was in my full meetfighters inbox.
The headline, I need a favour.
It was from a guy I had wrestled a couple of times and spoke to a lot more.
His username was something quite generic, so I always though of him in my head as the Beast.
It was a nickname that I often used in our messages, but never in person. And certainly not in our matches.
He had beaten me easily enough each time and I certainly didn't want to inflate his ego anymore.
He was a younger guy too which didn't help my ego any.
He wasn't a massive body builder type, the guy with muscles on his muscles. But he was a solid build. Brit pro build
The type of guy you want by your side in a fight, not necessarily the guy you want facing you.
He was a tough match, and I lost everytime.
I wasn't his jobber, I tried harder and harder each time. Our last match, I claimed victory because I got a single sub out of him.
He pointed out he got 5 from me. But you have to take your victories where and when they come.
No matter how small.
The thing I enjoyed most about with my fights with the Beast, was the pub and the pint after for a little post match analysis, a little bit of banter and bragging then just a general catch up before he went off to his car and I off to the train station.
We always discuss other guys we had wrestled and fights. Who we would think would be a good match, whose profile pic looked nothing like them and who once you arranged to meet them would vanish the day before the meet.

Because of my friendship with this guy, the camaraderie, when I saw he was asking for a favour I immediately read his message.
Hey J, it read, hope alls good and you arent too sore from your last fight. I need a favour.
Got a match coming up with an old rival. Known each other for years. He's got his latest boytoy in tow and wants to bring him to our fight to watch.
He cheats and I think he'll get his toy to interfere though we agreed to no outside interference.
Want to come help and enforce that? Will you be my second?
I have to admit that of course I'd said yes but that wasn't the first emotion that ran through my mind.
It was pride. I mean of the hundred odd past opponents, he picked me to be his second.
Then I re-read the term "boytoy" and guessed that's all he thought I could handle.
Still, I liked the Beast and kinda enjoyed watching him in action so I sent back the simple word, yes.
The simple word yes that led me to be standing in a locked matroom with a guy sporting the same bulging red Speedos, same build and knowing that this fight was going to only end one way.
With the other's humiliation.
And it all started because of the fight between the Beast and his rival.

Thanks.
Tricky to find good names for wrestlers as a lot of the good ones, people are already using :-)
