Nerveholds, claws and pressurepoints

Skilled deep nerve work

3 things mainly:

1) Pain/ Compliance (subjective)

2) Shutdown

3) K.O etc

You gain it by training. Learning to hit hard. Or gouge hard. Or torsion hard. Sandbag throwing, iron palm, iron finger (sorry missis)...

Against a resisting opponent only the most feasible of nerve/ pressure points work. And when someone is adrenalised the effect can be diluted.

Most of those Kyusho demos are bullshit. But some nerve striking etc is authentic and useful.

Shutdown can be lack of function, numbness etc.

like a dead leg or charly horse. When something won't work properly

KO is just that, lights out

Can you render the entire guy "shut down" immobilize but awake?

Theoretically yes. Practically, against a resisting opponent difficult.

Although you could say that a brachial stun is a complete shutdown. As in they tend to flap about like a fish if you hit them hard enough.

A lot of the knowledge is esoteric but not neccesarily practical to apply for real
