I'm not saying that the pro style can't eventually put someone to sleep if applied with force. It's fine for fetish fights, but in a real match it's probably not going to work, and it takes way too much time if it does. It was the "correctly applied" comment that precipitated my response. A proper sleeper will put someone out in about 3-6 seconds which can be barely enough time to tap out. Most guys who are into a sleeper fetish want a much slower gentler hold. The hand on the forehead actually reduces the pressure of the hold so it's fine for pro or for fetish play. When I put on a sleeper in a BJJ roll, the tap out is instantaneous and I still get comments about bells ringing, the darkness closing in or flying birdies.
Anything is a thing but is it a good idea? No, if you're going to do it, do it with someone you really really trust to call 911 when things go sideways which is always a possibility.

This is pro wrestling bs. No person who knows anything about a real sleeper would ever put his hand on the victim's forehead like that.

I totally agree, TxWrestle is correct. Pro is mainly for show while in bjj, ufc, catch wrestling it is all very real

I appreciate the input. I mix them up. Sometimes I put my other hand on my bicep instead of to their head to put them out quicker
