I think the main difference is just modesty or comfort level, I have wrestled in singlets, bike/compression shorts, speedos/trunks, briefs and nude, and unless your doing a rip n strip match the only difference is what you and/or your opponent is comfortable with. Some prefer the skin contact of speedos/briefs, and some prefer the modesty of singlets.
I used to be a contributor on a yahoo group and the FAQ's section it said the general rule of thumb is wear as little as you are comfortable with but no less than.
People often say "Speedo" when they mean any kind of briefs. I find Speedos and Swimwear less comfortable than skimpy underwear and singlets. It depends on how technical you want to get. I am not saying I don't like wrestling in Speedos. I just like singlets a little better.
Definitely prefer pro style singlets over speedos, they are more comfortable and make me look more slender IMHO. Don't like amateur/collegiate style singlets, however. I am also partial to high-waisted trunks and will gladly wear them if my opponent wants to see my breasts and nipples from the opening bell.
Most lycra singlets by major manufacturers. You move better and it kinda becomes a 2nd skin. The material more than the cut. I have wrestled in the Cliff Keen "Kurt Angle" lycra singlet. Even though it is an unusual/unique style, it is also very comfortable.
What do you see as pro and cons of wrestling in speedo versus singlet? I have only wrestled in Speedo which I enjoy, but interested in learning advantages of singlet. Again, just speedo versus singlet no “nude is better” comments are needed.
