A sad time

The Friday before Mother's Day, I got the worst proverbial "gut punch," ever. My mom was diagnosed with ALS.
With that being said, I am taking a sabbatical from matches for the time being. My priority right now is my family, and just being there for them.
Thank you for understanding.

Beginning Monday afternoon I fly out of Portland for my latest adventure.
First stop is in New York (Queens area). I am hoping to find someone wrestling or boxing action while I am there. I'm only going to be in town for 3 full days (I arrive at 10:30pm, but you know how it is with de-boarding the plane, getting to baggage claim, waiting for your bag, etc. So basically I won't leave the airport until midnight or so)
From there, on Thursday the 7th, I make my return to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Had fun while I was there when I met up with Trisha Black. I'll be meeting her again, as well as Becca Jaguar (who has challenged me to a mixed boxing match). Hoping that while I am there I find more wrestling and/or boxing.
The final stop on this adventure is Las Vegas. Always a fun time when I am there, but sad that one of my regular opponents has moved away (maybe, he did get a new job recently). But one's loss is another's gain.
To think that four months ago, I had a very scary situation regarding my heart and almost had to give up on boxing and wrestling. So this trip may not have been possible then. But it is now, and I am ready for it.

Last week I took my annual vacation time from my job. This year I decided to visit not only Las Vegas, but also Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
The first night I was there I met Alex (aka Awill92). This was our third meeting, and now we stand at 2 wins for me and 1 win for him. We always have fun when we meet up. Whether it's wrestling each other, having drinks at local establishments, or just hanging out.
I flew out of Las Vegas at 6 in the morning on Thursday to go to Milwaukee. There I met a woman by the name of Trisha Black, a female wrestler who has performed with such companies as Leather and Lace and CurvyGirls Wrestling.
We met up Saturday night for some mixed wrestling and mixed boxing. The boxing matches I won both, 3 knockdown rule, no rounds.
We did four matches after that: a straight up match, a comedic match known as "The Scottish Rules Match," an American Football Fan vs Fan match (Seahawks vs Packers), and a Leather and Lace style match. She won all four of those.
Sunday evening I left Milwaukee and arrived back in Portland late at night. I had to work the next day.
All in all, it was a great wrestling trip and I cannot wait for the next one.
Session Interviews

This past Thursday night I had the extreme pleasure and honor of meeting two of the most beautiful and talented session wrestlers: Mia Annabella and Megan Jones.
This was for an interview only, because of a neck injury I sustained. Both ladies knew that and Mia especially knew. All three of us had been talking on Twitter a lot since early this year.
When I arrived at their hotel, Megan answered the door and I was immediately stricken but her cordialness and beauty. I introduced myself to her and she seemed genuinely surprised that I would take city transit to come all that was for an interview.
She told me that Mia was still getting ready, so Megan and I chatted for a few minutes about myself, my book on Session Wrestlers I am in process of writing, my job (as I'd come straight from work) among other things.
When Mia came out of the restroom the first thing she did was give me a big hug and said "Hi love, it's nice to finally meet you," We chatted about Portland/Vancouver. When Megan told me that someone told her to check out my hometown she thought Vancouver Canada (common misconception).
Then the interview began, and it was a very fun experience talking with them about their experiences in the session business. My questions were only 8, so I had to make up more on the fly. Which I did, and they both answered them.
When the interview was over I took my leave to go have a smoke. I was joined by both ladies who asked me what my interest in wrestling was. I told them that I too am a session wrestler with a profile on another website. They were perplexed at first until I showed them my profile.
A gleam came into their eyes as they knew guys who'd be interested in doing that where they lived. As I had finished my smoke, Mia looked at me and said something I'll never forget "Wow, you have real pretty eyes. My son's eyes are the same color." What she didn't know then, but now does, I blushed more red than the reddest rose.
It was time to take my leave and both ladies gave me a big hug and told me to get my neck better. I guaranteed them that I would.
So that's my experience in meeting Mia and Megan. I will never forget them, or their kindness. Class acts.
So as far as my book goes I have interviewed the following people (mostly by text or email):
Becca Jaguar - Boxer, wrestler
Julia Regoli - Catfighter, Wrestler
Geri Wrestler - Oil wrestler
Devon D'amo - Wrestler/Boxer
Miami Banks - Wrestler
Megan Jones
Mia Annabella
