To my Irish friends. Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I realize that the period is not the best to celebrate ... but at least for one evening you can celebrate. I have loved Ireland for years. It is a country that holds a special place in my heart .. so I want to wish all Irish members and Irish expatriates to other countries or descendants of Irish expatriates of the site a happy St. Patrick's Day. have fun, let's have fun at least for a carefree evening. ☘️🍻

My best man told me...repeatedly...that there are only two types of people: the Irish and those who wished they were. And, that is not hard to imagine given the generations which have been bred by those who had some Irish in their family.

Gaelic did not become our national language; English did. But, then, Saint Patrick was English, truth to tell. And, though the largest number of descendants is not from those of Ireland, but Germany. And, German was the runner up to English is being chosen for our national language.

That said, I am proud of all my national origins of which Irish is not the least, but then it is not the most, for me that is.

May you not still be feeling any ill effects from over indulgence on the 17th. Looking forward to the next. In the meantime, I have warm memories of this last one. I went to bed early and turned up the heater.

@Gingerman. St Patrick would’ve been from around the area now known as Wales, or possibly Cornwall. Wales is certainly not England and many Cornishmen consider Kernow to be a nation in its own right.
