Thunderdome VIII - Not Happenimng
Hi Guys-
I am writing this blog to let you know that I will not be hosting Thunderdome this summer.
Many of you have expressed hopes that T-Dome VIII will still be taking place this July, but the current uncertainty in the projected duration of the Corona Virus pandemic makes committing to holding this event impossible. If I was definitely moving forward, I would need to be entering into contracts with vendors and service providers at this time, just as many of you would need to start thinking about travel arrangements and lodging. There is just no way to know, or even predict, what the status of this health crisis will be come July. And given that the nature of our beloved sport inherently precludes "social distancing", it's just not going to work.
You know how much I love hosting this event, and, of course, getting together with all of you, so you must also know that this was not an easy decision for me to make. Please note that I have every intention of hosting Thunderdome in July of 2021.
I send my hopes that you are all healthy and faring well, or at least muddling through, in these strange and uncertain times.
Joe

2020-03-28 02:07Joe,
You are awesome! I attended my first Thunderdome last summer and had a blast! I am sorry I didn't know about it sooner or I would have attended other years as well. I think under the circumstances, 1) your recovery from surgery and 2) the uncertainty of the virus outbreak–you have made a very wise decision. I have posted on all my wrestling profiles that I am not engaging in combat sports until further notice.
Please say hello to the wife and anyone else who might ask about me. Thank you for all you do and I look forward to a great Thunderdome 2021!

2020-03-29 00:57Thank you, Joe, for all you do for the community. I don't know anything about the $$$ outlays you makes each year to host Thunderdome; but I reckon it's more than you receives in contributions for 1 thru 7 .
For those who can afford to do so, why not put the $$$ you would have spent on travel and lodging this year, and give it to Joe to defray future /recoup past costs what I am assuming he lays out for host such an event?

I'm down for doing this, depending on what Joe thinks and if he has a way for me to get $$ to him.

2020-03-29 16:01Happy Sunday guys! Hope you are all well and doing what is necessary to keep yourselves and others safe during this crisis. I know for some that means staying out of the ring and off the mats but, in time, the combat will resume. As most of you are aware, the Thunderdome 2020 has been cancelled due to current conditions. The event will resume in 2021. The suggestion was made that we still support the event with financial donations this year. I spoke with the host who greatly appreciates the thought; however, he would prefer the donations are just doubled when attending the event in 2021.

2020-11-07 11:30The way things are going, who knows if 2021 will be a no go as well?
Hopefully once a certain "leader" is FIRED, it won't be fashionable for his minions to not wear masks and social distance, which has got to help.
