I especially want to thank Vanman81 for his blog post and those who commented there. Let me summarize my takeaway from the results.
Match Requests Updated
The Match Requests are here to stay. I have updated the page and gave it a bit of a facelift. Observe the "before" and "after":
The most important changes:
- A visually cleaner aesthetic to the page itself.
- No need to open separate pages to view the details and send a message to the poster.
- The left side bar only shows the number of local match requests. (Match requests in remote countries are not so interesting, after all.)
- When posting a match request, messages are sent automatically to users in that country. (This can be turned off on the Administration page.)
Meetings
The Meetings feature will be retired in a few months, unless I can come up with some way to make it more compelling. Ideas are welcome.
FitFighters
There were a number of votes both for and against the feature. I think there is synergy between this site's core goals and exercise. Martial arts and wrestling are sports after all. For now, implementation of the feature is postponed until a later date.

2016-08-28 22:40Thank you for trying to keep the site updated and current all its aspects. The voting is certainly a fair way to test the waters and you are to be commended for your efforts.

2016-08-28 23:38(Off topic: for the "Match Requests", maybe promote at least the country, but maybe also the location within the country into the headline with the match topic/description? Maybe add little country flags as well? :D Nah, not terribly important, it would just visually help to oversee countries. E.g. say I could somewhat easily travel to the UK and Austria, even though I don't have a presence (profile location) there; I could still quickly browse through the requests to spot ones that I could be interested in.)
(Also: the number of past opponents seem to be missing after the profile names on the new version of the page.)

2016-08-28 23:42I miss the chatroom feature that shows when chatters come and go, as I found it very practical and useful.

Showing the users joining or leaving is a tradeoff. Many seem to like it better this way and there is a lot more discussion going on in chat now. That is a good thing.
In the browser chat you can manually enable join/leave messages, by clicking oh the Settings (gears) icon. If you absolutely must have it as default, try the mibbit chat, that one will show you that info always. Or you can install your own IRC client and configure it any way you like. At this time I have no intention of changing the current default behaviors further.

2016-08-29 21:11Great work Admin. I am getting used to the format slowly, just one small point though.
Because now only local requests show in the left panel (great feature) when you are on the log in page no match requests show. This could suggest to non members that the site is inactive. It would deter me from signing up and it may others.

I have fixed that now.

2016-09-02 05:47Thanks for all the work that you do but for some reason the only people that challenge you are the people that live no where near you, have no thoughts of ever going near you and want to challenge you, for what reason, I just do not understand, but appreciate the hard work. I used to run a wrestling club with over 1000 members around the world from 1997 to 2007 and it was not easy, so thank you again. Dean

2016-10-21 14:43Thanks for all the work you do, man!
Regarding "FitFighters," I had a couple thoughts, if you're interested...
Some of us on here are strength and conditioning coaches, personal trainers, etc. I can't speak for everyone, but I'd contribute to a combat sports-oriented S&C program which gets posted here.
Also, there used to be this awesome site called "Now You Try," where a different physical challenge was posted each month, in the form of a video showing one of the site guys doing the challenge. (along with rules about how to film it, what to include, etc.) Folks would submit their videos (usually via YouTube), and the winner each month would get a modest prize.
Obviously, Meetfighters can't been handing out prizes, but maybe the winner could get a little badge to go up there by our username with the rest of them; a trophy kept by the winner until the next month.
What do you guys think?

I'm already posting some "weekly challenge" videos. :)

I saw those, and they're awesome... I was thinking something more contest oriented.
Like, instead of "can I do a hundred pushups," it's "how many pushups can you complete in a single set?"
Then, establish parameters for the contest, like, "reps only count if the chest touches the floor, you reach full arm extension to elbow and shoulder lockout, and your knees cannot touch the ground."
Also, creating a tag or something, so all these particular vids are in one place.

2016-10-22 02:47After the unprofessional posting the administration did about global fight online it has proven to me that this is not a good site after his actions and I have been a member to this site before and the administration showed me how bigoted he was and still showed it by his remark about global fight . I will suspend my membership after him showing his bigoted response outward to another wrestling site . By the way : global fight is a much better wrestling site then this one . I hope others feel the same way and hope they also suspend their memberships
