I really like both of them. But as finishing move I prefer the shoulder rack. It still remembers me on my first fight ever, when I was forced to give in such an awesome shoulder rack.
I will go with the shoulder backbreaker definetly... the heel can apply much more pressure in his pull downwards of the jobbers legs and neck..when having your opponent up in your shoulders... plus there is no way the jobbers feet or hands will ever touch the ground, and with it minimize the pain of the hold
Personally - from being in both - I can testify that the rack is a heap more painful especially if the opponent was 1. pulling down both my legs and chin 2. "bouncing" me on his shoulders. It may just be me, but the over the knee always seems more humiliating but...
Over the knee/torture-rack back breakers are to me VERY HOT! The former you have full display of your victim - all of him ;-)- and can add a pec claw or humiliation to his manhood to add to the helplessness. The latter is a great pose opportunity in front of mirror hold to admire your own physique while manhandling your helpless opponent. It also provides a good rest for you during a beat down. Add a few up and down bounces on your toes to increase the pain and/or do some squats with your human barbell and you are well on your way to humiliation land! You can also turn him to face the mirror so he can witness his own helplessness while you pull down on his chin or face while dominating him...showing him who's in charge. ;-)
Gee, I wish I did weight lighter. I hope one day I do get to be a victim and put in a knee/torture rack back breaker with bouncing, and pec claws. I envy the jobbers who have experienced that.
I always ask my heels to put me on a shoulder backbreaker.. Love the feeling of being at their total mercy, especially if they walk around the room bouncing me..

Although a competitive wrestler i also enjoy the fun side of wrestling too. Backbreakers are just the most awesome hold with torture racks being the ultimate hold. have regulally rack up to 210lbs on my feet and done quads for the added bit of power but racked 2 guys together before at a combined weight of 270lbs. I admit i did stay on my knees as i was nervous about dropping them. lol
Would love to be in a back breaker over ONE of your shoulders .... legs dangling down behind you, your hand clasped over my chin to pull my head down towards your chest.
Delayed release on submission - but release is only from you dropping to the deck onto your knees with me still in the hold, to ensure further back punishment.
At that point, I expect to be writhing around on the canvas ready for you to whip me over into a full on brutal boston crab.
OK, start with the rack (i.e. both shoulders) followed by a quick progression to the single shoulder ... the Golden Grappler Tournament Trophy Final at Bridlington between Kid McCoy and Mal Sanders had the most devastating back breaker over one shoulder I've seen ... plenty of posting before the Kid was hauled up there - and Mal Sanders certainly knows how to bounce a guy and throw him down once the submission screams are clear .... perhaps the release was a tad too swift for my taste ....
me prefer to be put across broad strong shoulders and like feel my back in total pain adn control till i beg mercy, is the best way tourture rack for humiliate and domiante your opponent...
I love them anyway! Back rackign is fun cuz u can totally control the opponent. The over the knee is good once u started to get tired a bit..and less painful too. I love them anyway, anytime!
I have to agree the back breaker over the shoulder seems to be the most painful especially with the bouncing, but any back breaker can be applied to the extent for torture. Paul pic is me in a bow and arrow

I've had the unfortunate pleasure of being the recipient of this hold in past matches....but never over the shoulder. Nothing worse than being in this hold and your opponent reaches in the briefs and starts fondling you...nothing you can do but give in!
Which version of the backbreaker do you think is the most painful? Personally, I would vote for the shoulder version, as with a knee backbreaker you can sometimes get your feet on the mat and take some of the pressure off your back that way, but in a shoulder backbreaker you are entirely at the mercy of gravity at both ends, plus the applier can "jostle" you to add extra pain.

Jason, I just wish I was lighter to have you apply it to me. I hope I find a bigger guy to do it to me one day.
